MANAGING A MUSIC BUSINESS ENTERPRISE (MMBE)
Level 3 Diploma
QUALIFICATION DETAILS
Title: Managing a Music Business Enterprise(MMBE)
Awarding Body: NCFE
MMBE is aimed at individuals starting out in the music industry, such as: Artist Managers, Live Music Promoters, Booking Agents, Record Label Start Ups, Publishing and Licensing Companies, Music PR and Marketing Companies.
It will also be relevant for DIY artists releasing their own recordings, Songwriters, Freelance performers, Remixers and Producers.
On completion, learners will be investment ready, equipped with a complete business plan and a full Level 3 diploma qualification.
The UK music sector is largely made up of small businesses and at present there is limited formal training available. Mark Lewis, founder of B-Unique Records said, "The MMBE course is an excellent initiative. From my perspective as a record label and publisher, the more young artists and managers know about the inner workings of the business, the better it is for us. Unlike some other courses, the people behind this one have a proven and current track record in the business, this allows them to keep up to date in what is a fast changing and challenging environment."
MMBE is the first accredited qualification of its kind in the UK, and is mapped to Creative & Cultural Skills National Occupational Standards ensuring national recognition by educational establishments. Uniquely, the course has been placed on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) meaning that participants could be eligible for funding towards the costs of qualification.
Furthermore, the course is fully supported by the national music industry, with materials and content reviewed by leading music trade bodies including UK Music, the Music Managers Forum (MMF) and the Music Publishers Association (MPA).
