Foundation Learning
Foundation Learning programmes are for 16 - 18 year olds who are not in education, employment or training. Foundation Learning is designed to suit your needs so that you can progress and achieve your full potential. You will be able to join these programmes at several points throughout the year. You will get EMAs on all these programmes, if you are eligible.
Foundation Learning is made up of several qualifications that include vocational subjects (e.g. Construction, or Childcare, or Creative Arts) and Personal and Social Development (PSD). Additionally, if you missed out on getting Maths, English or ICT at school, you will also have the opportunity to achieve these qualifications. You will receive individual certificates for all the qualifications you achieve within the programme.
By achieving qualifications in all three elements of Foundation Learning, you will have the right mix of skills and understanding to cope with the move towards a Level 2 qualification such as an apprenticeship or a Level 2 Diploma.
