Sprowston Day Services

This Norfolk County Council funded project provides music making activities to adults with learning difficulties who attend Sprowston Day Services in Norwich.

The workshops are open to all Sprowston Day Service users. Around 25 participants attend each session, including at least 10 with complex needs, who are encouraged to participate fully in the sessions. Participants have explored a wide variety of instruments including rain sticks, xylophones, cello, electronic drum kit, guitars and ukuleles.

Diane Wilson, a support worker from Sprowston Day Services said: "Music breaks down many barriers and this has certainly happened here at Sprowston. I have witnessed very shy, quiet students enjoy joining in with the singing and dancing. Our service users really look forward to this session and feel a great deal of confidence with Ian and Joe as their tutors.''
