Instruments

Young people can try out any of the large range of musical instruments --guitars, brass, strings, drums - and some more unusual ones such as ukulele and accordion.

Technology

Learn about music technology - creating music on a computer or have a go at using samplers, synths, and recording equipment.

Family Junk

Have fun playing with recycled instruments such as blue barrels, tuned yellow gas pipes and flip flops! All the family can join in.

Percussion

Try out a range of percussion from around the world including hand drums, drum kits, electric drums and the handsonic - a futuristic instrument that allows percussionists to play up to 15 sounds with their hands.

Song-making

Explore aspects of songwriting - create, perform and record their own song with support from tutors for starting points, lyric development, issues around publishing and copyright.

Animation and Music

Explore how drawing, puppets and poseable models can come alive through a combination of easy computer techniques - then put together a creative soundtrack, sound effects and titles to complete the final animation.

Band Skills

Develop skills writing, working together, songwriting, performing and recording either using our equipment or they can bring their own and have a great time.

Singing

Learn about voice care, breathing and warm ups - anyone can join in and develop a good sound, singing a range of popular and lesser known songs from around the world. For younger children - there are a number of songs and games for all to join in.
